Expanding INOVA Loudoun Hospital

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build
it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the
city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
(Psalm 127:1)

Construction on the INOVA Loudoun Hospital expansion was underway when I started therapy last summer, so I thought it would be fun to create a photo diary comparing the expansion's progress to my own.  I'm so happy it didn't take as long to complete my voice and strength rehab as it's taking the construction to get done.

Food for Fines

If anyone has material possessions and sees
a brother or sister in need but has no pity on
them, how can the love of God be in that
person? Dear children, let us not love with
words or speech but with actions and in truth.
(1 John 3:17-18)

Our library is conducting a food drive during the second week of April. During this time, patrons will be able to pay their fines by donating unexpired, unopened, canned goods and/or other nonperishable items.

The eye-catching display announcing the event includes a cat and a dog sculpture made out of cans and kitchen supplies. Kudos to the very creative person who set it up.

Sun Rising

From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the LORD is to be praised!
(Psalm 113:3)

An early start this morning enabled me to enjoy the sunrise along my way. Its reflections on the clouds were really intense.

Reflections of the Setting Sun

The whole earth is filled with awe at your
wonders; where morning dawns, where
evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.
(Psalm 65:8)

Tonight's sunset must have been magnificent, judging from its reflections on the clouds. That's all I could see from my window, but what a glimpse of glory it was.

Beautiful from Beginning to End

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.
(Isaiah 40:8)

Watching a miracle unfold (highlights from my previous post).

When all four buds were in full bloom, the amaryllis was a sight to behold, but it got top heavy, and no amount of propping or turning it to face the light could keep it upright.

And so it's life ended in a vase, where it flourished for another week.
