12-12-12 Sunset

"From the rising of the sun to its
going down The Lord's name is
to be praised." - (Psalm 113:3)

This has to have been one of the most spectacular sunsets in my neck of the woods, judging by the glimpses of it that were visible to me.  And to think I almost missed it.  I wish I could have seen it in all its glory, but my view was blocked by trees and rooftops. 

  

SQUIRRELS AND TREE TRUNKS

There's a chill in the air, and many of the trees around town have shed their beautiful fall colors, but the squirrels are still out and about. 



 It's been fun watching them gather nuts, chase each other up and down the trees, and hop from branch to branch.  They're not camera shy either, as you can see.

 

 

I've also noticed some interesting tree trunks on my walks around town, like this one which looks to me like a man standing on his head.  Or this other other one that reminds me of a prophet of old with his hands raised to the heavens.




There is never a lack of interesting things to see, and I am so grateful that the Lord planted me in this beautiful little town.

MAPLE AVENUE

"I will meditate on the glorious splendor
of your majesty, And on Your wondrous
works."  (Psalm 145:5)

 
Whoever named Maple Avenue certainly gave it a fitting name.  I so enjoyed my walk up and down it this morning, and was pleasantly surprised at how much color surrounded me. With all of the adverse weather we've had, I expected the trees to be a lot more bare.

 

 

THIS AND THAT AROUND TOWN

Day three of test shots, and my battery ran out.  Had to go home to recharge it before I could finish my walk.  Note to self: Order some spares.  Will definitely be needing them if this becomes the only camera I carry around.
