Two rivers and three states

Let the rivers clap their hands, let
the mountains sing together for joy;
(Psalm 98:8)

View of Maryland Heights' cliffs overlooking the confluence of Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, as well as the point where the three states of Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland meet.

A faded sign on the cliff reads "Mennen's Borated Talcum Toilet Powder."

Marker showing historical flood levels since 1886.  The highest flood in March 1936 crested at 36.5 feet, and destroyed all the bridges across the two rivers.

Tail end of the civil war reenactment.

I'm not sure what this is, but it intrigued me. There were many of them lying all over the ground under the trees. Maybe some kind of seed pod?

Mostly Roses

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but
the word of our God endures forever.
(Isaiah 40:8)

Despite gusty winds and heavy rain, roses are still blooming all over town. So beautiful.

There are other flowers too, but mostly roses.

Changing of the Guard

To everything there is a season, and a time
for every purpose under heaven:
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)

So many changes in our town, it's hard to keep up.

Coney Island Diner is now The Pub.

Middleburg Bank had been taken over by Atlantic Union Bank.

Walgreens purchased Rite Aid a while back, and now the two buildings have merged into one.

Graduation

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and  lean
not on your own understanding; in all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths
straight. -- (Proverbs 3:5-6)
