From bulb to flower

This amaryllis bulb was a Christmas gift from a friend. I'd never had one before, and it was a lot of fun watching it grow. The flowers are amazing.

Winter storm Jonas

Despite all the media alerts, the sky was so clear on the eve of the storm, I had a hard time believing it would really hit us, but it did.








Winter storm Jonas turned out to be a blizzard of epic proportions, rightly nicknamed "Snowzilla," that dumped 36 inches of snow on us before moving on.
















Much as I would have loved to take my camera out for a photo op, a fractured heel in a clunky space boot kept me housebound, and I had to settle for these pictures taken through the windows instead.
